Electric and elastic properties of conductive polymeric nanocomposites on macro- and nanoscales

2002

Abstract In the past several years, the macroscopic electric and elastic properties of conductive polymeric composites have been studied from the viewpoint of such applications as thermistors and pressure sensors. In particular, we studied carbon black (CB) polymeric nanocomposites on macro- and nanoscales, using polyisoprene as the composite matrix. The filler component was an extra conductive carbon black (PRINTEX XE2, DEGUSSA) with a primary particle diameter of about 30 nm. A very strong reversible tensoresistive effect of electric resistance dependence on uniaxial tension deformation was observed in composites with the 10 carbon black mass parts added to 100 mass parts of polyisoprene.…

Long-term ISO 23936-2 sweet oil ageing of HNBR

2021

Abstract A hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) compound is subjected to ageing in a simulated oil and gas environment in accordance with ISO 23936-2 standard at two elevated temperatures (130 °C and 150 °C) for a period of up to 9 months. Shore D hardness, thermal expansion, dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, compression and compression set (CS) measurements are made before and after the chemical exposure. The hardness, modulus at short times, degree of relaxation and CS increases while the coefficient of thermal expansion in HNBR tends to decrease with ageing time and temperature. Temperature is shown to impose a greater effect on th…

The effects of intensity, frequency, static load, and shore hardness on different parameters in vibration sensitivity measurements.

1987

The effects of shore hardness, static load, frequency, and intensity of vibration on the amplitude and dynamic force effects of vibration were studied in conditions corresponding to those occurring in vibrotactile sensitivity measurements. The measurements were performed on three silicon plates of known shore hardness. The results indicated that the effect of differences in elasticity on the vibration amplitudes was evident at lower frequencies up to about 200 Hz whereas at higher frequencies the amplitudes remained at the same level, regardless of elasticity. On dynamic force the effect of elasticity was observed at all frequencies studied (50-500 Hz). The static load of the contractor had…
